Thomas (Tommy) Clayton Rushing Sr., 86, of Randlett, OK, passed away Sunday.

The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. this evening at Owens and Brumley Funeral Home, 1101 Sheppard Road in Burkburnett.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at the Lighthouse Church, 603 S Red River Expressway, Burkburnett, with Pastor Bobby Scott officiating.

Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Randlett under the direction of Owen & Brumley Funeral Home of Burkburnett.

Tommy was born on March 29, 1936, in Wichita Falls to Joe and Francis Rushing. He enlisted in the US Marine Corps on Oct. 29, 1953 and served for two years and two months ending with an honorable discharge. He then moved back to Burkburnett. After returning, he started a few endeavors in the local area. He then started a career with Preston Dairy as a truck driver. He tried his hand at raising several different animals and become a farmer in Southern OK. He enjoyed attending auctions, gardening, fishing and spending summertime at the lake.

Tommy was preceded in death by his parents; stepfather, Louis Johnson; and stepmother, Doris Rushing; and a sister Delores Conner.

Survivors include his wife, Joan Rushing of Randlett, OK.; children, Thomas Rushing Jr of Iowa Park, Darla Lemmon of Wichita Falls, Kenneth Rushing of Hamilton, Tonya Loving of Weatherford, Tammy Taylor of Commanche, and Jody Chavis of Spring Branch; brother, Ronnie Rushing of Ardmore, OK.; two sisters, Francine Benson of Burkburnett and Renee Vandenberg of Devol, OK; 13 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

For those desiring, the family requests memorials be made in memory to The Lighthouse Church, or Hospice of Wichita Falls.
