A Lane of I-69 will Close Daily from August 3 to 7 in Sugar Land, While Fort Bend Parkway Will Have Mobile Closures at Four Points on Monday. Neither Road Will Be Completely Closed.
Drivers traveling through Sugar Land, Missouri City, and other Fort Bend County communities will encounter partial closures on I-69 and Fort Bend Parkway during the week of August 3.
The longest restriction will be on I-69, where one inner northbound lane will be closed for six hours per day, Monday through Friday. Fort Bend Parkway will have mobile and alternating closures in both directions only on Monday, August 3.
The work will take place during the day and could reduce the capacity of both roads, especially for those traveling toward Harris County or using the corridor to reach the Houston area.
A Lane of I-69 Will Close Daily in Sugar Land
The inner northbound lane of I-69 will be closed from Sugar Lakes Drive and Williams Trace Boulevard to the boundary line between Fort Bend and Harris counties.
The closure will be in effect daily from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., from Monday, August 3 through Friday, August 7. The other lanes will remain available, and no mandatory detour has been established.

The restriction sits on a corridor used to travel from Sugar Land to Stafford, Southwest Houston and other areas of the metropolitan region. Although the highway will remain open, the lane reduction could cause slower traffic around the work area.
Fort Bend Parkway Will Have Mobile Closures at Four Points
Fort Bend Parkway will have alternating closures of main lanes and shoulders in both northbound and southbound directions on Monday, August 3.
The restrictions will shift between four points along the corridor:
- Trammel-Fresno Road
- Highway 6
- Knight Road
- Sienna Parkway
Work will begin at 9 a.m. and end at 5 p.m. The impact will move from point to point and lane to lane during the day, so not all sections will be restricted at the same time.
Fort Bend Parkway will not be completely closed either. Drivers should slow down and follow the temporary signage as they approach the work crews.
The Two Closures Will Coincide for Six Hours on Monday
The restrictions on both roads will be active simultaneously from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Monday. After that time, work will continue on Fort Bend Parkway until 5 p.m.
On Tuesday, the mobile closures on the toll road will end, but the inner northbound lane of I-69 will remain closed during daytime hours through Friday.
