Houston Latino Film Festival Celebrates 10th Anniversary

This 2026 the Houston Latino Film Festival (HLFF) celebrates its tenth anniversary. Once again, this event that has grown notably over the past decade returns on the days from March 18 to 22, 2026 to Midtown Arts & Theater Center Houston: MATCH, marking a momentum-building series for the stories, artists, and Latino communities through cinema.

What began as a three-day community event in Houston’s East End has transformed into a multi-day cultural gathering that welcomes filmmakers, artists, and audiences from across the region and beyond.

The 2026 Festival marks a decade of presenting films that reflect the diversity, resilience, and creativity of Latino artists.

The tenth anniversary motto, “Houston, Here We Are!”, highlights the festival’s mission to elevate emerging artists whose voices are often underrepresented in traditional media.

“When we started, there really wasn’t a space that consistently presented the Latin narrative,” said Pedro Rivas, HLFF’s Director of Programming.

“We quickly understood how vital Latin representation is in our community, and by offering this opportunity to the public, the Houston Latino Film Festival was able to grow while staying true to its original mission.”

The opening night will feature Hollywood actor Cheech Marin, accompanied by director Daniel Alvarado and actor Daniel Valdez, to discuss the documentary American Pachuco.
