     Michael Edward Mauldwin, 78, of Wichita Falls, Texas passed away on June 7, 2021 in Canon City, Colorado due to a motorcycle accident. Funeral services will 10 AM Thursday June 17, 2021 at Hampton Vaughan Crestview Funeral Home Chapel.

      He was the cherished husband of Doris (Willoughby) Mauldwin and his two sons Michael and David. Mike was born on October 14, 1942 in Charlotte, North Carolina, the son of Pauline Mozelle (Byars-Mauldwin) Deese and Silas Vernie Mauldwin. He is survived by his wife Doris, of 59 years, his son Michael and wife Tania Mauldwin of Wichita Falls and his son David and wife Vicky Mauldwin of Iowa Park, five grandchildren, two great grandchildren.

     Mike joined the Air Force his senior year at Garinger High School in Charlotte on June 18, 1960. He was stationed in France, Germany, Korea, Thailand, and served in Vietnam from 1968-1969. He retired on July 1, 1980 from Sheppard Air Force Base after serving 20 years on active duty. He then served an additional 23 years as the head of Chief Training Evaluations at Sheppard Air Force Base before retiring a second time as a GS 12. Mike was an MSgt his last assignment was Air Cargo Course Supervisor.  Mike earned a bachelor’s degree and two associate degrees from Midwestern University on December 13, 1996. He was a certified Insturment Flight Instructor at Kickapoo Airport. He also Flew Senator Craig Estes. He was an Active Extra Class HAM operator, and enjoyed riding his Harley-Davidson with his son. They were on their annual vacation ride of 11 days heading to SD when the accident occurred. Mike has been a member of the Texoma Cowboy Church since 2009.

     His first love was his family. His favorite enjoyment was riding his Harley-Davidson and spending time with his sons. He was a loving and supportive husband and father, a man of absolute principle and integrity.

     Memorial donations may be made in Mike’s memory to the Wichita Falls Area Food Bank.
