Allan Leroy Forsyth, 74, passed away Wednesday, April 29.

A celebration of life will be planned for later this summer in Wichita Falls.

Allan was born Nov. 26, 1945, in Duncan, OK., to Arthur Lee Forsyth and Letha Katherine Phelps Forsyth. He attended grade scool in Tuscola, IL., before moving back to Waurika, OK., for high school and graduated in 1964. He and Jewel Marie Puckett were married in 1964. They lived in Wichita Falls 19 years before they built a home and farm in Iowa Park where they lived for 28 years. They spent many years actively involved in the Methodist Church as youth group counselors. He enjoyed sports, both playing and coaching. He worked for United Electric then Southwestern Bell, later known as AT&T, for 35 years before retiring in 2009. He was active in the CWA Local 6200, and at one time served as union president. He and his wife moved to Apple Valley, MN., in 2011. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and working in his garden and around the house.

He was preceded in death by his parents and baby sister, Carolyn Sue.

Survivors iclude his wife of 54 years; a brother, Sonny; daughters, Karen Cook and Alicia Getman; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggest memorials be made to The Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation or a charity of your choosing.
