What an amazing life our Nanny had and we are heartbroken to say to say least. At 97 she was still doing her thing. Up and going and visiting family and friends going to church plus volunteering her time to deliver meals on wheels to those in town. There was not a week of my childhood that I was not at her house. From fishing with my papa and daddy on Sunday morning and bringing home the fish for her to fry up for dinner on Sunday night. Watching daddy, mom, papa and Nanny playing cards on Friday nights and Nanny making us kids popcorn with just a touch of sugar on top, which we still eat our popcorn that way today. Nanny making homemade pies on the holidays and with the extra pie crust she would bake it flat with some cinnamon and sugar as a special treat for us kids. Working at her house as we built my first car or just being there for 1000 other reasons. We are blessed that mom and daddy made sure we spent time with both their parents so we knew what family means. Our hearts go out to all who loved her as we face this loss but I still count all the blessing as nanny was such a big part in all our lives. Fly high Nanny! We know you have your wings and after 30 plus years you and papa are together again.
