Evelyn LaVerne Skinner 1930 - 2019

Evelyn LaVerne Skinner, 88, passed away Thursday, March 28.

Funeral services were held Tuesday at First United Methodist Church with Pastor Jeff Pehl officiating.

Graveside services followed at Hampton Vaughan Crestview Memorial Park under the direction of Dutton Funeral Home.

Evelyn was born on April 19, 1930, in Wanette, OK., to Katherine Evelyn Killian and Lee Roy Renfro. She married LeRoy Adam Skinner, Jr. on March 20, 1948. She was a homemaker and especially enjoyed sewing and cooking. Her hobbies included doll collecting, reading, and continuing to learn computer skills. She was an active member of First United Methodist Church of Iowa Park. She served as the treasurer of both the local and district United Methodist Women’s Club, secretary and reporter of the Twenty-Three Study Club, and treasurer of the Iowa Park Garden Club.

She is preceded in death by her husband, LeRoy Adam Skinner, Jr.; her parents; her sister, Rosalee Bea-son; and her brother, Eugene Renfro.

Survivors include her sons, James of Iowa Park, and Howard of Fullerton, CA.; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
