Gertrude ‘Trudy’ Routh joined the heavenly reunion with her dad and husband August 14, 2021.

She was born December 18, 1961 in Wichita Falls, Texas. She graduated from Iowa Park High School in 1979 and married the love of her life, Steve Routh, on December 12, 1987.

Trudy is well remembered by her bubbly, over-excited and sometimes sporadic personality – a woman full of faith and love for her family, friends, and neighbors. Before the dream of having a child of her own, Trudy loved kids and often watched and babysat her nieces and nephews. One time in a haste to get to church, she left her nephew Roger and niece Beth in the car to run back in the house to grab something, only to return to Roger behind the wheel and the car ran into the side of the house.

Never on time for anything, Trudy often fretted over her hair, nails and clothes before she emerged out of the house to go anywhere. And never ask her to wear regular shoes. She loved her blingy flipflops and would even wear them in the wintertime. Speaking of never being on time, every holiday gathering with the family you could always count on she and Steve to arrive about the time that we were all eating dessert, but came bolting in proudly with the half-eaten chicken or warm wilted salad.

In March of 2002, Trudy became a mom to her son Ryan, the second love of her life. He was her pride and joy. She was her son’s biggest cheerleader and proudly supported him during his sporting events at school and later his FFA, roping and rodeo events. And when her niece, Cici came along, Trudy spoiled her and loved adorning her with frilly bows and blingy attire. And although she would have argued that she was too young to have grandkids, she welcomed her twin grandbabies just a year ago this month. Trudy’s high-pitch squeal and unique laugh will now be a memory we carry in our hearts. Her outpouring of love and compassion for others surely earned her heavenly reward and gained Trudy her ‘blinged-out’ crown.

She will be missed by all until we are reunited again. She is preceded  in death by her mom, Cecilia Ann Camp-Sheline; her dad, Horace Pruett; her mother-in-law, Deanna Smith Routh; her husband Steve Routh and brother-in-laws; Brian Godair and Robert Cook. She is survived by her son, Ryan Routh, sisters Doris Godair , Floreda ‘Pete’ Whitaker Tony Heimburger  and Sherry Cook ; brother Sam Kaiser  , her grandbabies Ryder and Gracie; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The pending Memorial service will be announced at a later date .
