Glenn Calvin Chitwood, 75, passed away Tuesday, May 18, in Wichita Falls.

Funeral services were held Tuesday at Victory Baptist Church of Wichita Falls under the direction of Dutton Funeral Home. Graveside services with military honors followed the services at Highland Cemetery.

Glenn was born Nov. 4, 1945, in Wichita Falls, to Calvin Lowe Chitwood and Lillie Mae (Coffey) Chitwood. He was raised and attended school in Burkburnett and graduated high school in Burkburnett in 1964. He furthered his education at Tarleton State University in Stephenville, and Midwestern University in Wichita Falls. He also enlisted in the United States Navy with a tour in Vietnam, as a Navy Seabee in construction helping the Marines, ending in 1968. He completed his career as a journeyman carpenter and worked alongside his son, Wayne Chitwood at Chitwood Contracting. After retiring, his love of farming and ranching was fulfilled, including his sons and grandchildren working with him.

He is preceded in death by his parents; and his sister, Calva Faye Chitwood.

Survivors include his wife, Karen Jo Chitwood; sons, Glenn Calvin Chitwood, Jr., Travis Wayne Chitwood, Waylon Curtis Chitwood, and Sean Alexander Pendleton; daughters, Audrey Chitwood, Terri Faye Chitwood McCalib, and Michele Lee Pendleton Kirkland; and 11 grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations of your choice in Glenn’s remembrance be made to Hospice of Wichita Falls, Beyond Faith Hospice Home Health and to Helping Hands Home Health.
