Jacqueline “Jackie” Jones Pemberton

Jacqueline “Jackie” Jones Pemberton, age 84, of Electra, passed away Saturday, May 14, 2022, in Iowa Park.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, at Aulds Funeral Home of Electra with Rev. Terry Hickman, Pastor of Bible Baptist Church of Electra, officiating.

Interment followed in New Electra Cemetery.

Jackie was born Aug. 20, 1937, in Electra, to the late Lloyd Alton Jones and Catherine Viola Minderman Jones. She graduated from Electra High School and attended Midwestern University and later graduated from Draughon’s Business College. While her children were young, she taught aerobics and worked for the Electra ISD for several years. Later in life, she married Herbert Leach Pemberton on Dec. 1, 1992, in South Lake Tahoe, CA., and moved to San Ramon, CA.. Upon Herbert’s death in 1998, she returned to Electra. In recent years, she became the “Social Butterfly” of the Electra Healthcare Center, where she was selected as Homecoming Queen, Valentine Sweetheart, and chairwoman of the welcoming committee.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd Alton Jones, and Catherine Viola Minderman Jones; husband, Herbert Leach Pemberton; son, Jason Alton Cranford; sister, Cynthia LaRue Reese; and brother, Sammy Joe Jones.

Survivors include one son, Wayne Cranford of Electra; one daughter, Cathy Cranford of Iowa Park; two grandsons; and three great-grandchildren.
