Martha Gayle Dennis, 78, passed away Thursday, Jan. 7, at home in Wichita Falls.

The funeral service will be a private memorial for immediate family only due to the Covid19 Pandemic. However, the funeral service will be shown on the Faith Village Church of Christ YouTube link on Saturday at 2 p.m. and remain available on the site for later viewing. Interment will be in Crestview Cemetery in Wichita Falls, by Lunn’s Funeral Home.

She was born Aug. 21, 1942, on her dad’s brother’s farm, northeast of Iowa Park, to Raymond and Minnie Good (Head). She grew up on the small family dairy farm in Iowa Park. She married James Donald (Don) Cope on Aug. 22,1958, in Iowa Park. He was a machinist and they lived in Fort Worth, where he worked. He and his brother bought a machine shop in Olney, in the mid-1960s and the family moved to Olney. They later bought the Mowrey Gun Works in Iowa Park that made replica flint lock long rifles and moved the production to Olney. She moved to Wichita Falls, in July 1979 working for an insurance company. On Sept. 12, 1980 Martha married Chuck Dennis in Wichita Falls. She joined him in his business in 1986 working full time for over 32 years as a professional Realtor.

She was preceded in death by her first husband; her son, Chris; a brother, Bruce; sisters, Doris and Edna.

Survivors include a daughter, Donna Gayle Hinson; son, James David Cope; Chuck’s children, Kevin Dennis and Julie Letsche; 11 grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren.

The family requests no flowers and requests that memorials to Martha be made to Tipton Children’s Home, P.O. Box 370, Tipton, OK 73570-9989, New Mexico Christian Children’s Home, 1356 NM-236, Portales, NM 88130, and Westview Boys Home, P.O. Box 553, Hollis, OK 73550-9901.
