CMSgt (retired) Richard P. Driscoll, 76, passed away Tuesday July 12, at Hospice of Wichita Falls.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. today at the Hampton-Vaughan Crestview Funeral Home located at 1917 Archer City Highway Wichita Falls.

Richard was born on Nov. 17, 1945, in Wilkes-Barre, PA., to the late Donald and Theresa Driscoll. On Feb. 2, 1966, he married Caroline Keller in Hanover Township, PA. On Sept. 27, 1965, he enlisted in the United States Air Force as a Liquid Fuels System Maintenance Technician at McGuire AFB, New Jersey and Hickam AFB in Hawaii. He then moved to Production Control Superintendent and Mechanical Superintendent at both Dover AFB, Delaware and Hickam AFB in Hawaii and then to Mechanical Manager at Sheppard AFB, serving 23 years in the military. During his service he was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal, The Goddard Medal and was named Senior Non-Commissioned Officer of the year in 1986. Upon retirement he served as a Civil Service Mechanical Project Inspector from 1992 up to his retirement in 2009. His hobbies included bowling, tennis and softball fishing and golfing.

He is preceded in death by his father Donald, his mother Theresa; and his sister, Mary Berger.

Survivors include his wife, Caroline; a son, Richard Jr.; a daughter, Ardenne Williams; his sister, Theresa Donnelly; a brother Donald Driscoll; and four grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to Hospice of Wichita Falls in memory of Richard.
