Roy Leslie Goodman, 101, of Iowa Park, passed away Sunday.

Roy was born to the late Jack M. Goodman and Elizabeth Jane (Lewis) Goodman on July 5, 1919 in Poolville, OK. He was a WWII and Vietnam Veteran, having served in the United States Army for 51 months. After an honorable discharge from the US Army, he worked for Lone Star Gas. He was a welder, welding the first gas pipes in the Faith Village area, and served many years as a lead Forman. He retired with 30 years from Lone Star Gas. After retirement, he worked on lawn mowers, and mowed lawns for his neighbors and friends. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge. He enjoyed going dancing at the Red Door and The Zone, and playing spoons.

Along with his parents, he was also preceded in death by his siblings; his daughter, Alma; and his life companion, Myrtle Martin.

Survivors include a daughter, Nancy Cotton; and four step-children, Michael Martin, Susan Coker, Cecilia Miser, and Benny Martin; 14 grandchildren; and 28 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. today in the chapel of Owens & Brumley Funeral Home in Wichita Falls. Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery under the direction of Owens & Brumley Funeral Home in Wichita Falls.
