Supergirl Returns Stronger Than Ever

Summer blockbusters keep arriving, and this time on the big screen we will see a very beloved character, it is “Supergirl”. According to experts, this movie promises a view different from what most people think when they picture Superman’s cousin. On this occasion, the character shows a much tougher Kara Zor-El, and she is not the Supergirl we are used to, due to her life experiences, since she witnessed the horrific ways in which everyone around her was killed. It premieres on June 26.

The Story

In 1984, the first “Supergirl” was released, a British film directed by Jeannot Szwarc and written by David Odell, based on the DC Comics character. It is a spin-off of the Superman film saga and unfolds after the events of “Superman III” from 1983.

“Supergirl” was created by the writer Otto Binder and the artist Al Plastino; “Kara Zor-El” first appeared in “Action Comics” no. 252 (1959). Being Kryptonian, she shares the same set of powers as “Superman”, including superhuman strength, invulnerability, flight, heat vision, and enhanced senses.
