The Lone Star Flight Museum (LSFM) will host Girls in Aviation Day, presented by ExxonMobil, on Saturday, September 19. Registration for this free event opened to girls (and boys) aged 8 to 17, and, due to high demand, registrations for this event quickly sold out.
Girls in Aviation Day at the Lone Star Flight Museum was created twelve years ago by Women in Aviation International and is a global celebration of women’s achievements in aviation and an opportunity to inspire the next generation of female aviators.
It is designed to encourage girls to pursue careers in aviation and the aerospace industry; this event highlights aviation professions, such as pilots, aircraft mechanics, air traffic controllers, flight attendants, aviation agents, ground personnel, and a broad range of business, financial, and technical roles and responsibilities.
“Girls in Aviation Day is one of the most inspiring events we host each year. This event opens young minds to a boundless array of possibilities that they may never have imagined,” said Anna Hawley, president and chief executive officer of the Lone Star Flight Museum.
Parents and siblings of participants attending the event can purchase discounted museum admissions online or on-site the day of the event.
