Avenida Houston will have live music on Saturday from 6:30 to 9 p.m. at The Plaza, with DJ El Turko Sonidero and Tejano Queen Forever.
Houston will host a free celebration for Hispanic Heritage Month on Saturday, September 19, 2026, with Latin music, cumbia, Tejano, and a tribute to Selena at The Plaza at Avenida Houston.
The event will take place from 6:30 to 9 p.m. in downtown Houston and will have free admission. The program will begin with the local DJ El Turko Sonidero and will continue with Tejano Queen Forever, a group dedicated to performing the music of Selena Quintanilla.

The Houston DJ El Turko Sonidero will open Saturday’s programming.
His repertoire combines cumbia, Tejano, Spanish-language rock, darkwave and other Latin sounds, as well as well-known songs and less common selections within those genres.
The DJ’s participation will give way to the night’s main concert.
Tejano Queen Forever will pay tribute to Selena
Tejano Queen Forever will headline the celebration with a show dedicated to the music and legacy of Selena Quintanilla.
The group, based in the Dallas area, performs in various United States cities with a repertoire based on the songs of the so-called Queen of Tejano.
Vocalist Carymel Rodriguez leads the show along with a live band that performs songs associated with Selena’s career.
Avenida Houston will have parking in its downtown garages
People arriving by car can use the Avenida Houston parking around the George R. Brown Convention Center. Fees depend on the garage, the schedule and the events taking place that day.
