Mar Solís Blends Mariachi and Cumbia in New Single “Inventame”

Through Mar Solís, new generations will be able to hear a song that first saw the light more than three decades ago. It is the successful song “Inventame”, which she has adapted to her musical style and has also managed to update it with an interesting mix of rhythms.

Written by Marco Antonio Solís, the composition began its discography journey in 1995, when it was recorded by Enrique Iglesias.

Four years later, in 1999, Marco Antonio Solís presented his own interpretation and, since then, the song has continued to find new lives through different artists, generations and musical genres.

This time, Mar takes back this success and makes it her own, but without failing to count on the blessing of her father, Marco Antonio Solís, who also surprised her by wanting to participate in a very special way in this version.

“It’s something that fills my heart completely, because it’s a capsule in time that I will be able to have for the rest of my days, that I will be able to listen to, that will remind me of this stage of my life, that will remind me of so many things,” she shared.

“He [Marco Antonio Solís] has a super special voice that immediately feels like a hug for the soul. It’s something very special to have his voice, which was in a very spontaneous way, because I showed him the mastered version and he told me that he wanted to do me the backing vocal. So it was something very beautiful to have that magic in the song in such a natural way,” she added.

Mar’s proposal begins connected with the emotion and roots of mariachi, and, reaching the chorus, opens toward the joy, movement and the rhythm of the cumbia. That journey transforms the song without losing the emotional essence that made it a classic.

“It’s a fusion that perhaps was a little unexpected. It’s that we start with mariachi and then the cumbia begins. So it was like a fusion of those two rhythms. It starts very romantic with accordion, with trumpet. I love brass and I melt with the trumpet. So there are certain moments where the song is super romantic. And then a beautiful cumbia, that you can dance to, that you can enjoy. Yes, it’s a fusion that combines many instruments and styles very special to me.”

These days she begins a tour that will take her to several cities across the country, a tour that becomes a baptism by fire with the audience.

“It’s my first tour; there I will be getting to know for the first time in the United States who my audience is, who are connecting with my music. More than anything, I want to see them happy, see them dancing, see them connecting with these songs and see their happiness grow in this space as mine grows,” she concluded.

Her tour “Tu TuTu” kicked off with a sold-out show in the city of Los Angeles, California, captivating the audience with a performance full of energy, talent and emotion. On that first night, the artist reaffirmed her growth and projection within music, marking a successful start to this new stage of her career and making clear that what lies ahead will be even bigger.
