 October 8, 2026.

Five restaurants in Houston retained a Michelin star in the 2026 Texas selection, while CorkScrew BBQ kept its star in Spring. The region did not add any new star-bearing restaurants this year.

BCN Taste & Tradition, Le Jardinier Houston, March, Musaafer, and Tatemó remain the five Michelin-starred restaurants within the city of Houston. CorkScrew BBQ, located in Spring, also retains the distinction it received in the previous edition.

The six establishments had already been listed among the Michelin-starred restaurants in Texas’ 2025 selection.

Five Houston Restaurants Keep a Michelin Star

The 2026 selection keeps the same five Houston restaurants recognized with a star:

  • BCN Taste & Tradition: Spanish and contemporary cuisine.
  • Le Jardinier Houston: Contemporary French cuisine.
  • March: Creative cuisine with a Mediterranean focus.
  • Musaafer: Contemporary Indian cuisine.
  • Tatemó: Contemporary Mexican cuisine.

A Michelin star recognizes restaurants that the guide considers to be of high-quality cooking and worthy of a stop on a journey.

The Texas Michelin selection for 2026 keeps the five establishments under the Houston category.

CorkScrew BBQ Keeps Michelin Star in Spring

CorkScrew BBQ also retains a star in 2026, but the restaurant is located in Spring and Michelin classifies it separately from Houston.

The barbecue establishment is located at 26608 Keith St., Spring, and forms part of the Texas one-star restaurant selection.

With CorkScrew BBQ, the Houston area preserves six one-star restaurants, although five are within Houston and one is in Spring.

Houston Receives Five of Texas’ Six New Bib Gourmands

The main new development for Houston in the 2026 selection appears in the Bib Gourmand category.

Michelin added six new Bib Gourmands across Texas, five of which are in Houston:

  • Bar Buena: Mexican cuisine.
  • Kitchen Rumors: fusion cuisine.
  • Khói Barbecue: barbecue with Vietnamese influences.
  • Murray’s Pizza & Wine: pizza.
  • Xolo: Mexican cuisine.

The state’s sixth new Bib Gourmand is Resident Taqueria, in Dallas.

The Bib Gourmand distinction recognizes restaurants that Michelin considers good quality and with an attractive price-to-food ratio. Houston now has 18 establishments within this category.

Levant BBQ Joins Houston’s Michelin Selection

Levant BBQ was also added in 2026 as a Michelin-recommended restaurant.

The restaurant, located at 5884 Westheimer Road, combines Texas barbecue techniques with Levantine flavors. Its menu includes brisket and ribs alongside preparations such as lamb, hummus, and fasolia.

Texas Has 19 Michelin-Starred Restaurants in 2026

The 2026 state selection includes 19 Michelin-starred restaurants.

The new stars went to Goldee’s Bar-B•Q in Fort Worth and to Fabrik and Kappo Kappo in Austin. None of the three new stars corresponds to the Houston area.

Houston retains five one-star restaurants and Spring retains one, while the new local incorporations concentrated this year in the Bib Gourmand and Michelin-recommended categories.
