After confirming that the United States carried out a military operation in Venezuela, Donald Trump claims that Nicolás Maduro has been captured.
He said that the United States attacked Venezuela and overthrew its president. Media outlets claim this is the most direct intervention by Washington in Latin America since the invasion of Panama in 1989.
«The United States of America has carried out with success a large-scale attack against Venezuela and its leader, President Nicolás Maduro, who, together with his wife, has been captured and removed from the country», said Trump in a post on Truth Social.
Trump asserted that he had warned Maduro to surrender just a week ago. He also reported that Maduro and his wife Cecilia Flores will be transported to New York.
