Just on June 12, 2025, in Houston, the World Cup organizing committee met with the press and community members to show the progress and to ensure that our city would be the best host for the thousands of visitors.
These twelve months have passed quickly before us, and we are already on the eve of the inauguration of this tournament that will unite the world and that comes to our city for the first time. Here in Space City the excitement is felt everywhere; we are all ready for the football party to begin.
We view the news from a different perspective, and this World Cup is no exception; here we get excited when the ball rolls, but we also watch and analyze other details of what happens. That is the magic of coverage, and during the 39 days this tournament will last, we are ready to report on the highlights both on and off the pitch.
For eight years, the city’s organizing committee has worked to ensure that everything our community enjoys is at the highest standards of a World Cup host city.
Feeling the passion this sport awakens and walking the streets of our city will surely be a unique experience for those of us who have the opportunity to attend events such as the Fan Festival, which is already ready and extends across 275,000 square feet on the eastern side of downtown Houston.
Definitely, if you don’t have the chance to go to a match, the festival is the place to catch the fever of football’s king. If you choose to go one day and enter the site, you will be surrounded by at least 7,000 fans who will be there at the same time as you.
In total, the organizers assure that about 15,000 people will pass through that site each day for the 34 days it will be open.
The following weeks of this warm summer will be full of football and fun. The authorities assure that they have everything under control, but it is always necessary that each of us remain attentive to our safety and to that of everyone. We must report if we see something that is not right or that we consider suspicious.
Regarding health, we must also be vigilant; do not lower your guard and stay alert, only in this way can we fully enjoy this football festival.
We should patronize local businesses to continue boosting our local economy and so that in the end we all come out ahead, as the teams will on the playing field.
We are often told that this experience is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for many, and surely it will be, so let’s not miss the chance to be part of all this buzz.
We are expecting the arrival of an estimated 500,000 visitors who will be in Houston; we should take pride in showing them the best of our city and the highlights of our multiculturalism.
In Houston we are already ready to receive and experience football, to share with visitors, and to highlight this host city that we are thanks to the work of many people who have dedicated themselves to preparing everything the world will see.
Stay tuned for all the news we will be sharing so that everyone enjoys this football tournament.
