The third edition of Life After Loss will take place on October 17 at Mason Park; registration ranges from $25 to $40 before the scheduled increases.
Missing Pieces Support Group will host its third annual Life After Loss race on Saturday, October 17, 2026, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., at Mason Park, east of Houston. The event will include a 5-kilometer course, a 1-kilometer race or recreational walk, and a virtual option available throughout October.
The activity is part of Gestational and Neonatal Loss Awareness Month. People directly affected by a loss, family, friends, healthcare professionals, volunteers, and residents who wish to support the organization’s work may participate.
The Life After Loss 5K will be chip-timed
The 5K race will be chip-timed and open to runners as well as those who prefer to complete the course on foot. Registration is $40 through October 11.
The 1K fun run/walk will be a shorter option suitable for participants of various ages. Registration is $30.
Prices for the two in-person modalities will increase after 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, October 11. The amount charged after that date has not yet been specified in the registration system.

The virtual challenge will be available during October
People who cannot attend Mason Park can walk or run from anywhere during October via the virtual challenge. This option costs $25 and will remain open until 11:59 p.m. on October 31.
Teams of three or more participants can also form with a reduced rate. The system allows participation as an individual fundraiser, making a donation, or registering as a volunteer. The team discount is not detailed before registration begins.
Life After Loss funds will support services for grieving families
Proceeds from Life After Loss will go to support groups, care packages, grief resources, and other Missing Pieces Support Group programs for families experiencing gestational or neonatal loss.
The organization invites participants to wear pink and blue clothing during the day. Spectators who prefer to accompany runners in designated public spaces may also attend.
