Mural Celebrates 2026 World Cup Legacy at Children’s Museum Houston

As Houston welcomes visitors from around the world for the FIFA World Cup, the Children’s Museum Houston proudly revealed a new mural that pays tribute to the Houston Museum District, to the spirit of exploration, and to the unlimited potential of young minds.

This museum was selected as the site for this official mural to represent the collective impact of the city’s renowned Museum District. Created by local artist Elizabeth ‘Liz’ Umanzor, this mural transforms the museum’s exterior into a colorful tribute to curiosity and discovery.

The artwork incorporates images inspired by science, nature, art, and exploration, including fossils, crystals, butterflies, native fauna, creative expression, and space exploration.

Together, these elements celebrate Houston as a global city where innovation, education, and cultural exchange thrive.

The mural serves as a visual reminder that Houston’s greatest strength lies not only in its global relevance, but also in its commitment to inspiring future generations.
