Codiciado Goes on Tour and Heads to Houston

He is known as one of the pioneers of the new generation of regional Mexican music and for giving new life to the genre; he is Codiciado. A singer who has managed to win the public’s favor with his musical proposal.

Recently, he announced his United States tour “Así es la vida Tour”, with which he will visit 9 cities to perform live, including Houston, where it will kick off.

The tour comes on the heels of Codiciado’s recent album consisting of 15 tracks, “Así es la vida”, which includes standout songs such as “Soy gracias a Dios,” “Déjame dormir” with Carín León, and “No voy a cambiar” with Xavi.

Regarding collaborations with fellow singers, he says they arise organically and that he seeks to work with colleagues with whom he has a connection.

“There are many artists I want to collaborate with, but you see who you click with and things fall into place. With Xavi we have a friendship; with Carín we made the song. He is a person you greet and talk to all the time. Throughout my career I try to be in different places, markets, and audiences, and these songs demonstrate why we want to keep working with others,” he shared.

When we asked if some of his colleagues would accompany him for a special appearance during his tour, he did not confirm, but he also did not rule it out.

“I have many friends and colleagues; possibly, if we can align schedules, someone might arrive, but we don’t have plans. I attended several friends’ events last year, so perhaps someone might show up there.”

His birth name is Erick de Jesús Aragón Alcantar, and he has been responsible for elevating the movement of modern Mexican music and advancing the contemporary sound of Mexican music, blending urban influences with traditional elements. Codiciado created a unique style and helped redefine the genre for a new generation of listeners.

“Music will continue to grow; I am happy with what I have done, but at the same time I am working hard to be where I want to be. I feel proud to have been part of the innovation in the genre and to contribute to new generations while continuing to innovate.”

He says he is proud of his work and of his most recent album that gives the tour its name; moreover, he was nominated for Premios Juventud in the categories “Best Collaboration of Mexican Music” and “Best Fusion of Mexican Music”. In addition to the nomination, this marks his first departure from the American continent to attend the awards ceremony to be held in Spain.

“When I received the news I was very happy, and it’s the first time I’m leaving the continent, and what better way than to take my work, my music, to other places,” he concluded.
