Improvements to the Metro Route from Downtown to Bush Airport

If you are traveling, there is now an easy and accessible way to reach the airport. As part of the METRONow plan to improve the customer experience and provide fast, affordable, and reliable connections between George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) and downtown Houston, METRO’s Route 500 IAH Downtown Direct operates from Terminal E starting December 7.

Relocating the route from Terminal C to Terminal E provides travelers with a more direct connection to the airport’s baggage claim and arrivals areas. Terminal E also features a covered entrance and a dedicated bus lane, which enhances safety, accessibility, and comfort in any weather.

Updated signage with universal symbols will be installed in all terminals to guide passengers to the new pickup point.

“This change reflects our commitment to making travel easier for both residents and visitors to Houston,” said Tom Jasien, President and Interim Chief Executive Officer of METRO.

Service runs every 30 minutes; the buses have WiFi and luggage storage, and the fare is $4.50.
