The fifth couple to join the program “Would You Bet On Me?” has been announced; it is the renowned actor René Strickler and his wife, the actress Rubí Cardozo. They will be among the 12 celebrity couples participating in this reality show that is set to hit the screen in January.
“Would You Bet On Me?”, the multiplatform reality, will be completely live 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
There, the celebrities will give up their privacy to live completely exposed while they overcome challenges, bets and temptations that will chart the path toward the ultimate goal: to prove how far they are willing to go for one another.
“We invite you to share a piece of this new adventure with us. Live this part of reality with us because we will be there 24/7,” Rubí shared.
René has had a wide acting career, accumulating major television successes in telenovelas such as “El privilegio de amar,” “Piel de otoño,” “Destilando amor” and several others where he brought to life unforgettable characters.
“I am grateful to the people who have watched the thirty telenovelas I have done,” he said. “There I played other characters. Here you will be able to see René Strickler in real life with his wife, his way of acting, moving and interacting. It is very interesting, I love it and I am very excited. It is something about working as a couple, because sometimes there are reality shows where one is alone; here I will have my partner who pulls me out of trouble, who lifts me when I’m down, and that is the beauty of having support and doing it mutually,” he added.
Rubí, for her part, has also worked in the artistic field, but she also runs businesses of which she herself is in charge. Now that she will be part of this program, she asserts that experience in television, in business and with her family will be key to standing out.
“It’s about overcoming our own fears and challenges; we are going to win, but we want to win ourselves, to know that we have gotten this far. We also want to set a good example and that is part of accepting this challenge, being a couple that can set a good example.”
The couple, married for 15 years, shared that they are eagerly anticipating what it will be like to participate in this project that will expose them all day.
“Even my wife’s scoldings,” says René, who also says that now the roles will be reversed, because he has always entered people’s homes through his telenovelas.
“The audience will now be able to enter the bedroom, the kitchen and see us all day long.”
Besides the challenge of exposure, they are also motivated by the prize, since the couple that earns the audience’s votes and proves that they can do anything will take home up to 300 thousand dollars.
Other couples who have confirmed their participation are Franco and Breh, from ‘El Conquistador’, Alejandra Jaramillo and Beta Mejía, Adrián Di Monte and Nuja Amar and the couple of Raúl ‘El Pelón’ and Laura Molinar.
The program “Would You Bet On Me?” will begin in January on Univision, simultaneously with ViX, a streaming option that will allow viewers to experience the full show and will connect millions of fans in the United States, Mexico and Latin America.
