The actress Sofía Castro is fulfilling one of her biggest professional dreams, which is to star in a primetime telenovela. It is “Land of Love and Courage” (Tierra de amor y coraje), which arrives on television screens in the United States on September 7.
In the story she plays “Clara”, a character she says has challenged her and in whom she has put all her acting experience.
“Today that girl is very happy to be fulfilling this dream, because truly, for me this project is a dream come true,” she added.
With this new acting challenge, the daughter of Angélica Rivera wants to demonstrate through her work that she has earned this opportunity.
“I want the entire audience to truly know that I did not take any scene for granted, that I did not give this half-heartedly and that I poured my heart out to give them a ‘Clara’ and a story of a lot of love and a lot of courage.”
The story follows the lives of the Coraje brothers; they are “Juan”, interpreted by Emmanuel Palomares, “Jerónimo”, which is brought to life by Brandon Peniche, and “Lalo”, interpreted by Emilio Osorio.
Their lives change with the arrival of “Clara”, who returns to assume the legacy of her father, a powerful man, owner of one of the most important ranches in the region, willing to do anything to reach his goals.
The Coraje and Barrios ranches have been neighbors and rivals for years. What seems like a dispute over river access is only the surface of a much deeper conflict. When “Clara” and “Juan” face off for the first time, an immediate tension arises that will mark the beginning of a relationship as intense as it is inevitable.
Away from the plot and off the filming sets, Sofía says she managed to forge a great friendship with her co-leads.
“I am very happy, very fortunate, and I’m not saying it just to say it; I could not have had better leads than the three of them. I fell into good hands, they have looked after me, pampered me, helped me; I have learned a lot from them,” she stated.
In addition to her main co-stars, the Mexican actress says that the rest of the cast is also very special to her; she considers them her friends and people with whom she wants to stay in touch.
“I always say there are no good and bad coworkers, there are good and bad people, and I am fortunate that they are great human beings, wonderful people,” she concluded.
The telenovela has already premiered on the ViX platform, but now it reaches Univisión screens at 8:00 p.m., Central Time.
