The iconic Banda Los Sebastianes, which has conquered the public with its songs, is premiering a new proposal, the EP titled “Por salud mental,” and one of the singles carries the same title, which is already available on all digital platforms.
“We were thinking about which topics would be included in the new EP, which also carries the title ‘Por salud mental’, a track we recorded with our friends from Matisse. We often do not talk about mental health because it is something very delicate. Especially when it concerns romantic relationships that are failed, toxic and bad, but for several years now mental health has begun to be discussed, and that is why we wanted to record this track,” said Javair Larrañaga, one of the vocalists of Banda Los Sebastianes, in which Andrés Padilla and Armando Celis also participated.
In this EP, they stand out for their sonic diversity and strong collaborations with artists such as Matisse, Julio Preciado, and Gerardo Coronel. Collaborations of which they are very proud.
“It is a great privilege to work with artists of great stature. When we combine their music with ours, it is very beautiful; we had been working with several artists and we feel very good,” shared Andrés Padilla.
And they are also enjoying great success with the track “Al chile no sé” alongside Gerardo Coronel. Additionally, they continue connecting with new audiences with songs like “Imagina” with Carolina Ross, reaffirming their ability to evolve the genre without losing their essence.
“The essence is something that characterizes us; we consider ourselves a versatile band, we don’t focus on a single niche, we do a little bit of everything. We really like to play with music, have fun, and make the music reach more people. We enjoy venturing into duets with people from pop and we like entering that realm that is very different; I hope in the end we don’t stop being music and people don’t stop liking us,” said Larrañaga.
They are already at the eighth No. 1 on the Billboard Regional Mexican Airplay chart, an achievement few groups reach. The vocalists assure that reaching those positions is the work of everyone on their team.
“The whole team works hard so that we achieve success and stay at number ones; it’s not easy, nor simple, we are always putting in the effort. We always record the songs with heart and hoping that people accept them and that they turn the songs into a hit. We are always at the ready, reading the comments and messages,” expressed Larrañaga.
The band Los Sebastianes has just been nominated for Premios Juventud in the category “Best Mexican Banda Song” for “Al chile no sé” alongside Gerardo Coronel, so Armando Celis says the band feels very honored.
“The nominations are a delight and a pleasure, because everyone adds their own contribution to every song and people value it a lot.”
For now, the Mazatlán-based group is promoting this new EP and they assure that more musical surprises will come soon.
