U.S. Passports to Feature Trump’s Image

Donald Trump’s supporters have another item to show their support; it concerns a commemorative version of the United States passports. The State Department has announced that it will issue a limited number of commemorative passports bearing a portrait of Trump. This action represents the latest instance of the administration’s trend to incorporate the image or name of the president on official goods.

The purpose of this release is to celebrate the United States’ 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence, which will take place in July.

This information was disclosed via a statement from the department and also through the White House’s official social media accounts that posted an example.

A State Department spokesperson stated that these passports will incorporate customized illustrations and images created, while preserving the security features that make the U.S. passport one of the world’s most secure documents.

This design shows Trump’s image superimposed over the Declaration of Independence and an American flag, and includes his signature in gold lettering.

On another page will appear a famous painting of the Founding Fathers signing the Declaration of Independence.

A White House spokeswoman told the media that this creation is an opportunity for Americans to join the spectacular celebrations of the United States’ 250th anniversary, and she added that Trump continues to lead with pride a renewal of national pride and patriotism during our historic semiquincentennial celebration.

It was not clear whether American citizens would be able to opt out of receiving the commemorative passport; nevertheless, a State Department official said that no additional fee would be charged to obtain one of the copies of this limited-edition commemorative passport.

Among other items bearing Trump’s image tied to the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence is the new coin the United States Mint has also announced. The Mint’s plans include a gold commemorative coin bearing the president’s image to commemorate the nation’s founding anniversary; likewise, the Treasury Department has stated that currency will bear Trump’s signature, which would mark the first time a sitting president signs U.S. money.

Furthermore, his administration has sought to have Trump’s name stamped on federal buildings and even the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, where his name was added. Large banners bearing the president’s photograph have also been seen hanging at the Department of Justice, Agriculture, and Labor. There is also a push to have several airports named after him, causing considerable controversy among his critics.

For now, those about to renew their passport have the option of obtaining this special edition featuring Trump; no dates have been announced as to when they will be available.
