James Talarico Wins Senate Race to Represent Texas

James Talarico becomes the next Texas Senator, defeating Ken Paxton.

Talarico is a former public school teacher who was first elected to join the Texas House of Representatives in 2018.

“Division politics cannot withstand the politics of love; we have sent a message to the corrupt millionaires and to all who defend this corrupt political system. The power rests with the people,” Talarico said.

“We faced our own Goliath. David was not strong, but he had hope and you have been my wave; the people of Texas were a wave. Today we defeated Goliath,” he added.

Born in Round Rock, Talarico attended Wells Branch Elementary School and graduated from McNeil High School, before earning degrees from the University of Texas at Austin and Harvard University.
