One of the most important stars in the Spanish-language entertainment scene is undoubtedly Lucero, who is backed by a wide artistic career in music and acting.
She is an artist whose charisma has captivated generations and who seeks to continue reaching her audience. She recently released a new musical single titled “Fuertes declaraciones”, an unreleased track that brings her closer again to ranchera music as part of what will be her new album.

Ranchera music has always been present in the artist’s career since she recorded her first album in this genre in 1990, titled “Mi sentimiento”; since then there have been several productions in which she interprets mariachi music.
Lucero always includes part of her ranchera repertoire in her concerts, to bring people closer to our traditions.
“When I put on the charro suit and go out to sing with the mariachi, people stand up and get excited. It’s incredible because when I step onto the stage at the beginning of the show, people are very happy, but when I start singing with the mariachi, it’s a very big emotion. Even in other countries, not only in Mexico, that makes it beautiful to be able to bring Mexican music to other latitudes. It’s my way of showing off my country, my traditions, my music, and the things I love about my Mexico.”
Besides, for the singer who has conquered international stages, it is important to continue working on new projects in her career.
“Artists who have spent so many years in the business always need a new dream, a challenge, and we want to present to people something different. I had many years without recording an album of original songs. It’s a beautiful concept to have recorded it live; I have collaborations with very talented friends.”
Among the authors she has previously interpreted are names such as Marco Antonio Solís, Joan Sebastian, Gustavo Ángel and others. In the interview, Lucero shared that she aims to continue interpreting works by other songwriters.
“I think it is the musical legacy of the great authors. Even Maestro Rubén Fuentes, who produced most of my ranchero albums when I was young; he is the author of songs like ‘Bikina’ and ‘Sabes una cosa’. He wrote songs for me to sing on the albums we recorded together; he worked with Pedro Infante.”
With this, she seeks to continue enlarging her repertoire, which already counts dozens of recordings.
“Being able to sing songs by these authors and being produced by these glories of Mexican music is truly incredible. It is a way to leave a legacy as a performer. I would really like to keep singing the music of the great authors to continue building this heritage.”
After 46 years in her career, Lucero, who has not limited herself to exploring several facets of her work, the concept of staying current resonates in her day-to-day life and she is constantly seeking new challenges.
“Staying relevant is a constant challenge because once you achieve certain milestones, you can fall asleep in the laurels and remain in the comfort zone, and that probably won’t lead you to discover new things or to be close to new audiences. Staying current is absolutely crucial; not only to arrive, but to remain is fundamental in this career,” she concluded.
