Juanez releases “Muérdeme”, the third advance single from his eagerly awaited twelfth album, with a new creative cycle that again centers on his sincere lyrics about the many facets of love, which is the engine of our lives.
The release is today, December 2.
In this track, the global rock and pop superstar teams up with the innovative and acclaimed electro-tropical group Bomba Estéreo to create a retro cumbia that uses sensual dancing to rekindle romance and passion in a long-standing relationship.
“‘Muérdeme’ is a song in which I wanted to take the cumbia to a different, harmonic place. A sexy cumbia, perhaps more in the world of pop harmony with vintage guitars that recall that cumbia sound of the 60s and 70s in Medellín. Having Li from Bomba Estéreo on the track is very special because from the first moment I produced it with Nico Cotton in the studio, we knew it was for her, so today it is a dream come true,” Juanes said.
“I love what Bomba Estéreo does and I think she has given a very special touch to this song, so I hope you enjoy it as much as we enjoyed making it,” she added.
The release of “Muérdeme” comes after the previous singles released this year, such as “Una noche contigo,” a classic serenade with a wide range of influences, including Otis Redding and The Beatles, as well as classic Mexican balladeers like Juan Gabriel and José José, and the inspiring love-at-first-sight story told in “Cuando estamos tú y yo.”
“The song ‘Muérdeme’ is a romantic song, like all my songs, well, most of them, where I express my connection with another person, something special, something beautiful. Something that goes beyond the physical; it is about souls, a connection that crosses these thresholds toward higher ones. Working with Juanes has been incredible because he is a great artist, but not only that: he is also a great person,” Li Saumet of Bomba Estéreo said
This week other news for that time of year was announced: Juanes will be one of the main headliners of the 2026 edition of the famous Viña del Mar International Festival, with a performance scheduled for February 25.
