Leslie Grace Reinvents Herself with a New Album

In her triumphant return to music, Leslie Grace releases an album aimed at continuing to connect with her fans and reaching a new generation. It is “Love, who are you?”, where her voice blends with the experience gained over all these years in her artistic career.

In total there are 14 songs, in which she participated in the writing, managing to imprint her personal essence, and it traverses different stages: attraction, passion, intimacy, vulnerability and personal growth.

“I knew that, since I took some time without releasing music, when presenting something new it had to be in a long-form format with many songs. The moment has arrived and I’m glad that people will be able to listen to this album,” she said.

“I wanted to have the space to explore different sounds and emotions in the songs I would choose for the album. I know 14 songs are a lot, but I even found it difficult to decide on just those because there was so much music we loved from all the songwriting sessions we did and from the ones I had written on my own at home with my friends,” she added.

Leslie began her career as a teenager and became popular with songs like “Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow” and “Be My Baby,” tracks that she made bilingual and to the rhythm of bachata. With this she managed to establish herself as one of the favorites in the world of tropical music.

Now, with this comeback, in her sonic proposal she combines tropical percussion with soft textures of R&B, creating a dynamic sound that evolves with the narrative. At the same time, it reflects her Dominican roots with a global approach, positioning herself between classic tropical and contemporary R&B.

“We are at a moment when artists have a bit more space to explore and fuse what previously, because of music, artists tended to be more of a genre and didn’t stray from it, but the globalization of music and streaming have given us access to many sounds.”

Although some artists participate in a few of the tracks on this new album, Leslie shared that she did not seek out more collaborations.

“This album doesn’t have many collaborations, because I was very clear that I didn’t want to do it unless the song warranted it and I said so when the song was written.”

During her absence from the music industry, she did not stop working and has managed to build a solid acting career. An example is her lead role in the musical film “In The Heights,” the story by the popular Lin-Manuel Miranda.

“I’m still in acting; there are many projects coming from there, two of them that just premiered at the SXSW festival.”

The singer continues promoting her album and hopes to embark on a touring schedule to present her new songs live.
